This is a high quality lithograph reproduction of the poster used to promote the 1971 concert in Seattle of The Johnny Cash Show which included his wife June Carter and her family, another rockabilly icon Carl Perkins, the Statler Brothers who opened for him on every episode of 'The Johnny Cash Show' on ABC, and 'Introducing Glen Sherley'. Sherley was an inmate at Folsom prison when Cash recorded the 'At Folsom Prison' album in 1968 and Cash performed one of Sherley's songs. When Sherley was released in 1971, Cash tried to help him and took him on tour with him.
Johnny Cash was considered one of the most influential musicians of the 20th Century. Although he is primarily remembered as a country icon, his songs and sound spanned other genres including rock and roll and rockabilly — especially early in his career — and blues, folk and gospel. This crossover appeal won Cash the rare honor of induction in the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. From his early days as a pioneer of rockabilly and rock and roll in the 1950s, to his decades as an international representative of country music, to his resurgence to fame in the 1990s as a living legend and an alternative country icon, Cash influenced countless artists and left a large body of work, writing over 1,000 songs and releasing dozens of albums. Upon his death, Cash was revered by the greatest popular musicians of his time, as well as millions of fans.
