    Description

This is a very cool and unusual item. It is a personal pressing, made out of aluminum foil from the Daniel Holmes Jr. Collection. It is housed in a plastic container and I have not taken it out. It appears to be a single piece of foil that was folded in half and then placed into the hard plastic container. It would have been made by placing a piece of foil over a genuine US coin and then pressing a tool over the foil to give it the form of the coin underneath. It is actually very detailed and the pressing was very well done. I don't know the story about these pressings... I couldn't find any reference to them being done. I couldn't find out how many were made. I couldn't even find that another has sold. It would be a cool piece to include in a collection of large cents, especially one that holds the accomplishments of previous collectors in high regard.
